Functional Programming and Web3 (With Brooklyn Zelenka)

I read the article and still don't understand what she does or what web3 is. I learned a few new buzzwords though.

I'm curious about Stephen Diehl's assertion that functional may not be the way to go. I'm waiting for him to elaborate. He works in finance, programs mostly in Haskell, and is a fierce web3 critic:

After spending nearly a decade on functional programming I have learned a ton of interesting things and met a lot of interesting people. But I can't say I'm terribly bullish on the paradigm anymore. There's some inescapable brute facts about its efficacy that are hard to ignore.
