All this happening in Kazakhstan is so far away from programming and HN; but it is so scary that I decided to add this comment - my first on HN. Our family - my wife and myself - lived in Almaty till we were in our thirties, then moved to Canada and then US. Our relatives still live there. Everything you'd call normal life went fubar in a just a few days. The town is in ruins, there is no law or police presence in there. Banks, grocery and other stores are looted and there is literally nothing left in there. Who did all this - nobody knows. Nobody of the locals know anything, in fact. No internet, no TV, no news. I truly wish you guys never have this kind of experience in your life.
