You’re unfairly revising the communist history behind the iron curtain in order to make a biased anti American point. People went to jail for reading certain books or attempting to listen to foreign radio stations. Poets would be under watch, threatened and forced to write pro-party poems. Communist countries had a functioning justice system too. You are doing exactly what you’ve accused me of doing: you are assuming that because some things were not perfect in the Soviet bloc, it meant a total lack of justice.

Except even more fighting for the resources and for sure it would spill out to the neighbouring countries too. Though it would be a nice thought exercise to determine if Kaliningrad would become Königsberg.

AFAIK there is a variant of that joke in many cultures.
