Thanks for the suggestion. We recently created our first templates. Accountant templates are coming.

cool. i have a massive "excel" file that i created over the past 4 odd years. always tinkering with it, adding features. i tried to get started but a new app from scratch is just not possible for me. i have a simple question though. can this "self hosted option" work completly offline?

Yes - we want this, except that we happen to have an open bug for this at the moment: https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/issues/3164 - so it's not working right now.

Thanks, really glad to hear that! If you do ever end up trying the platform, don't hesistate to reach out and ask questions on our github discussions forum.

hey. why don't you build some templates for accountants because this looks a nice thing for people like us but we aren't devs and coding financial statements from scratch, the db and all looks like a huge deal. i can totally see using this but "handholding" would be great.

Do check out Causal.app , looks like this use case might be interesting there.

Thanks for the feedback! We've not yet settled our pricing, which is why its not listed. Great to hear some opinions on it :)

just looking for a budget friendly option for small indie devs. lots of ideas but probably not a lot of traction.

This makes sense, and it's something we will consider over the next few months.

Congratulations! Looks amazing and the explanation on what it does and how it does makes me keen to try it.

As a solo developer, I am creating an app for a customer with the typical JS ecosystem. So, my questions is:

Could an application created with Budibase be put in front of final customers? With authentication/authorization?

Budibase is for creating internal applications. So if you are simply building an internal app for a customer, then yes.

If you are building a SaaS platform, then Budibase is not the right platform.

Installing the budibase server from npm pulls in over a thousand transitive dependencies. The npm install command reports that there are 39 known vulnerabilities in budibase's dependencies, including 9 that are classed "high" and 3 that are "critical" severity. The dependency graph includes a lot of crap, like packages containing trivial single-line functions like "is-object" and "is-stream". That's a very large atta…

Npm audit is a bit of a joke
