SEEKING WORK | The Netherlands | Remote only

I have about 5 years of experience with both Vue and Django and have developed many applications with it for freelance clients and for myself. I am located in the Netherlands, but I am fairly flexible with scheduling meetings etc, so timezone differences shouldn't be an issue if you are living in Europe or USA/CA regions.

This is my Github page with open source stuff on there: https://github.com/GDay

I also have a blog featuring Django/VueJS content (including a comprehensive Django/Vue course): https://djangowaves.com

SEEKING FREELANCER | Ruby on Rails | Remote in USA

I run Hack Club, which is a nonprofit that helps high schoolers start programming clubs at their schools. We open source almost everything we do at https://github.com/hackclub/. You can read a little about a summer program we ran a couple months ago here: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/teens-code-while-traveli...

I'm trying to find a Rails contractor who has a really good product eye to contribute to Hack Club Bank, which is a financial tool we run to help Hack Clubs and hackathons manage their finances and become nonprofits. https://hackclub.com/bank/ is the marketing page for it and https://medium.com/hackclub/hack-club-bank-is-now-live-for-e... has some more background on the product.

In this role, you'd be shipping features that require a combination of frontend and backend work. Our backend is pretty standard Ruby on Rails and our frontend is normal JavaScript with pages rendered by the backend. We have a small team of Hack Clubbers aged 13-17 that contribute to the product, and you'd also be serving as a mentor to them to scope out features, break them down into issues, and working with them through code reviews to get their code merged.

My hope is to open source Hack Club Bank in the future, so hopefully you'd be able to contribute to that as well.

If you're reading this and not currently looking for work, I would really appreciate any suggestions for people to reach out to, or profiles of anyone in the Rails community that you're inspired by that I could look into.

If you're interested in the role or have any suggestions, please email me at zach (at) hackclub.com. If you're interested in the role, please include your GitHub or links to any open source projects you've built or contributed to.

SEEKING WORK | Location: Kansas City | Remote Preferred

More than a decade of experience working remote as an independent developer. Twenty years of Java experience, from Swing applications to dozens of web applications, handling up to a hundred million events per day, generally backed by up to TB-scale SQL databases (postgres, mysql, galera, oracle, ...). I’m normally a solo developer, but work with teams when needed, generally as a team lead where I’m responsible for hiring, training, ... I can handle all parts of a system, both software and infrastructure, at all lifecycles. I have pretty extensive experience coding custom threaded solutions and providing data/statistical analysis in conjunction with the systems I build. I’ve also helped start several small companies and am comfortable working with business leaders, sales, marketing, ...

I’m open to part-time/full-time, short-term/long-term engagements, pay or equity, depending on the situation.

I can be reached at csshelton@gmail.com
