#2This isn't my focus, but my understanding is that there's a difference between researching SARS-CoV viruses and SARS-CoV-2 viruses.

The key is that this research (which includes creating mutations of sars-cov viruses) was indeed funded by the NIH.

#5Editorialized and misleading title. More anti-vax propaganda. They’re really hiding it what with the article being posted on nih.gov and all. HN should be better than this.
Let me summarize the study: “We deleted a protein from a different virus and made it less dangerous, thus showing that the protein is important.”
