What do you mean?? If you can get your pawn to the last row, you can change it to anything. You will probably want to change to a queen, unless you want to irritate your opponent :D

You can get your pawn to the last row, but the pawn can't be on the last row, since it instantly changes to a different piece (and you can't change your pawn to a pawn).

Get hold of one of those automated chess boards that move pieces around by magnets under the board. Set it to replay old games, and film or photograph it. That should give you unlimited photographs of known positions.

I fell for this trick. Good to know! This is one thing a computer can easily be better than a human. I make me think it could be possible to build CAPTCHAs with optical illusions.

Agreed that a computer can solve that much more easily, but my point was that just looking at a corner square wouldn't be sufficient.
