I'm very against the type of social media censorship we've see recently. However, in the specific case of linkedin, it's a job networking site. It's not an information platform like Twitter or Facebook, its for career related posts. I think this has less to do with "misinformation" or whatever the subtext is, and more with posting off topic content. If anything, I'd like to see a heavier hand when it comes to LinkedIn removing content that doesn't fit.

Does anybody have any information about this guy? I've seen his claim of being the "inventor" of mRNA vaccines a few times, but I am skeptical because this claim seems to only be made by his own self.

I see this Wikipedia article does cite papers and patents of his a few times, but his name does not appear in the main body of the text: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RNA_vaccine

It looks to me that he’s a self-aggrandizing liar. This Reddit thread contains a few good links. https://www.reddit.com/r/moderatepolitics/comments/oc31pe/dr...

I'm not sure where I stand on this since the topic is outside of my expertise. From a distance it looks like someone talking about their area of expertise, related to their work.

How different is someone like me making a questioning a claim that the ECS scheduler clusters can't possibly reach 5000 nodes based on the fact the I wrote the original code (the example is obviously contrived and doesn't match neatly like for like).

This comment would be outside the expertise of readers and moderators at Linkedin. They'd be ill-equipped to intervene, I'd say.

I'd say this would be problematic and way too subjective for anyone not to be worried about said action.

His tweet is grossly misleading. LinkedIn provided 6 examples of his posts, the first of which mentions a Reuters fact check. There seems to be no connection between LinkedIn content moderation of COVID misinformation and some personal vendetta with the CEO of Reuters. Take from that what you will, but I question the credibility of the author based on that as well as the claims in his posts.

You're calling him a liar, but the Reddit link even contains a link to citations as far back as 1996 that seems to substantiate that he has been very involved with the technologies used to create the mRNA technique for the vaccines. Ad hominem attacks are not helpful in validating the point in question or the person's character. I don't know your qualifications, but he does seem to have the qualifications and a trail of citations that deserve more scrutiny before passing judgement.

https://patents.google.com/patent/US5589466A/en

An excerpt from the 1996 patent by Robert Malone and others:

"The present invention relates to introduction of naked DNA and RNA sequences into a vertebrate to achieve controlled expression of a polypeptide. It is useful in gene therapy, vaccination, and any therapeutic situation in which a polypeptide should be administered to cells in vivo."

[EDIT - added summary from above patent for more reference] - SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a method for delivering a pharmaceutical or immunogenic polypeptide to the interior of a cell of a vertebrate in vivo, comprising the step of introducing a preparation comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable injectable carrier and a naked polynucleotide operatively coding for the polypeptide into the interstitial space of a tissue comprising the cell, whereby the naked polynucleotide is taken up into the interior of the cell and has an immunogenic or pharmacological effect on the vertebrate.

You are most probably arguing against a troll paid by a PR agency.

Browse the edits of the Wikipedia link. It’s a battle of removing/restoring him from the history.
