Hi everyone, For a while now I have been working on www.captionfy.io, a community subtitles platform for Youtube that I have built last year to help anyone looking for alternatives after its removal last September. It is an extension to Youtube. I have been an Amara user for a while (which I like a lot) and decided to create a new option for this feature mostly for fun initially, and I have the feeling it can really help other Youtubers and fans like myself.

If you have any needs regarding this topic, or want to discuss this extention further, feel welcome to reply here. Most of the implementation has been done after listening to early users, and I have to say, it is quite cool now. Hope it helps some of you and this thread's purpose is to discuss alternatives to community captions and of course improve the concept as much as possible.

thats actually really sweet. are you going to move it to other platforms?

Thank you! Right now it is pretty hidden (mostly because I suck at advertising it), and I plan on focusing on Youtube until it gets minimally popular. I do plan on expanding to other platforms cause I believe the same concept could be applied.

How many eyes do you think you have on it roughly, minus y combinator here? I guess for sake of brevity I have a degree in marketing and think this pretty cool no lie

So far I have been communicating communities (mostly on Reddit) about the platform and it is growing, but slowly. Lately I have started doing more things to promote it, like creating a Youtube channel, but these things require a lot of patience haha thank you so much for saying you like it, this is really motivating!
