People are human. But work is work. The canonical point of a workplace is to come together to fulfill the aims of the entrepreneurs. The personal aims of the workers are fulfilled best outside of work. Just stop to think about it logically for a minute... is the workplace the best place to circulate a petition condemning something that has nothing to do with work? I agree with this idea at face value. But most people spend the majority of their waking hours at work, traveling to work, or recovering from work -- not for the benefit of entrepreneurs, but to afford the cost of living. I think as a society we'd be less likely to inject our politics into our workplaces if we didn't have to spend such a large portion of our lives at work.
