#4I built similar functionality using Pusher recently. Probably the easiest way to multi-cast meow in real-time from browser to browser.

#5I've been using jGrowl to achieve this. The page I linked to has some good examples on it.

#6It looks nice but the syntax seems to defy convention. Should be something like: $("#element").click($.meow(args));
meow() is a method, not an event.
