I mean, React Native is not a bad choice for a "new notepad", similar to how they did with the calculator. It can even get the "Microsoft OpenSource Project" seal. The new calculator is written with UWP and C++, right? I'm failing to see the similarity.

The similarity is just the revamp in a old already established UI, nothing to do with React specifically
