Yea, seems like it would center it without much fuss. That might be a bit too big for mobile browsers, so choosing that width might be a bit of an odd choice.

The low contrast meme in web design is especially harmful.

Sometimes it’s necessary, as the number of code points and thus scripts supported by default fonts is low.

Serifs can be a good thing for readability! I don’t know that the creator’s choice to force sans-serif was ideal here.
