I think the main premise of this article is the fact that crypto's carbon emission is insane, especially Bitcoin, which I agree (I don't hold Bitcoin for this exact reason). None of the people I interact with and work with are gambling. We avoid that crowd because it's not sustainable nor does it create long-term value.
