I was surprised that Mike Krieger (Cofounder & CTO of Instagram) spends ~30 hours a week coding.

It doesn't seem like most CTO's, especially at big companies do a lot of coding anymore.

Those are interesting questions and answers. Are there other companies that have approached fundraising in this developer-focused way?

If the Supabase people are reading this, there's a typo at the end: "round lead by" -> "round led by".

I wonder what Supabase's pricing will be?

I guess it will be per VM instance hour, unlike Firebase's scale out read/writes?

I think they are competing against AWS, GCP and Azure, not just Firebase?

Supabase cofounder here - we're releasing our pricing on Monday.

Pricing is one of the hardest things we've had to figure out.

Any timeline for the swift client? I use Firebase currently and would strongly consider switching to Supabase as soon as a Swift client is available.

We were chatting to the DraftBit team about working on the Swift client together, but we have both been a bit busy.

I don't have a timeline for it yet, but if you're interested in helping build the rest client[0], let me know and I can give some more details.

Mike isn't at Instagram anymore, he is working on something new.

Of all the angels we met though, he was definitely the most technical. We chatted about Postgres scaling issues and some obscure challenges that we would have to overcome.

Great post, quite unusual to see something like this but also great to see who else believes in the product.

I wonder how you figured out pricing, since I'm working on something that is similar in a few aspects and am trying to figure out how to combine open source and pricing for it.
