That's for ice at 0°C too. I make it a 34km drop for 1kg of ice to gain that much energy. Are we missing something?

At the Bondo landslide in Switzerland 2017 ( https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-41036851 ), a lot of water came from glacier ice melted from tumbling down.
It's normal for sliding ice to melt under pressure at the surface, lubricating movement. That's how ice skating works.
