Hey HN, looks like I was beat to the punch on posting this. :)

I work on Startup School at YC. We're excited to launch our second-ever build sprint. You can think of a build sprint as sort of like a 4-week hackathon, with regularly scheduled checkpoints and a community of other folks all working on their ideas at the same time. If you’re looking for an excuse to take the plunge and start work on a startup or side project, this is a great opportunity to do that.

(Note: I’m traveling today so won’t be as active in the comments as I’d like, but will pop in to answer any questions as often as I can!)

> Finally, in a first for YC, we’ll provide actionable feedback on 1,0001 YC S2021 applications submitted by sprint participants. Ok, this is really cool.

Looks like that number should be 1,000 and the trailing "1" points to a footnote:

"If possible, we’d like to provide an actionable piece of feedback to everyone who completes the Build Sprint and submits a YC application. But we’re not sure how long that will take, so we’re only committing to provide feedback on 1,000 applications for now to be safe."

Are you still providing $10K grants to the most promising companies at the end of the sprint, as you did during the last sprint?

We're not giving out grants after this build sprint. We're going to focus on giving more feedback to founders -- on at least 1,000 applications to YC.

Thanks for your assistance.

I was in the last Build Sprint, and while I didn't get as much as I would've liked done, it was fun. A question about Startup School platform itself, since I've never found a support channel: will there or is there a way to delete the companies with which you are associated? I've gone through a couple of projects as "companies", but they've unfortunately not lasted, but I don't seem to be able to delete them, and have to repurpose. Then all my graphing about how much I'm doing and how far I've got left is wonky.

I much prefer this than some cash reward.
