#4The proposed solution for developers doesn't work any better; DPI is correctly calculated on desktop, but nearly always wrong on phones. So fixing sites for vertical desktop monitors will break them in most phones.

One of the best features of my Lenovo Chromebook Duet (a 10" ChromeOS tablet) is that it reports itself as a laptop with 1920x1200 screen so you get actually usable webpages and not the mobile crap.

#6Just because my horizontal resolution is around 1200, I am not on a tablet.
It's amazing how many websites are incredibly unusable when displayed 2-up on my 27" monitor.
There's so much screen estate, but I often literally have to resize the window to fullscreen to find a search or login field.

This is the worst when you're displaying two sites side by side on a 1080p screen.

#9The first DPI detector site detects my 55" 4K monitor as 442 DPI (5120x2880 at 13.3") when entering my resolution and diagonal size in inches gives me 80 DPI. The other one detects it as 192x192 DPI which is a much larger number. Maybe the first number means it should be 80x80 DPI but either way 192x192 is much larger. Maybe I'm missing something.

#10At least these sites have a desktop oriented UI. Modern Gnome just assumes you're always on a phone (even though the phones capable of running Gnome are still extremely niche.)
