I tried some of this, mostly because I was curious, but, although they said 'remote very possible', jobs always turned out to actually be on location. Did covid change this radically?

I think you mean my site https://remoteOK.io.

The other one is a site that's been made to make money from confusing people it's actually Remote OK. The owner admitted that and even used the same logo as Remote OK (without OK) until I send a lawyer to take it down.

Very annoying but I guess that's how business works

I let recruiters do the work. The insight is that I make their job easier by having the right resources and presentation in place.

i m looking to get an internship with no experience i dont think any recruiter is looking for me i mean i will even take unpaid internship at this point

Take advantage of the fact that, right now, all (software engineering) jobs are remote, for (pretty much) all companies. Even when the pandemic is over, many companies will keep the remote model as they had the chance to see its advantages -- or at the very least they will be open to be flexible when hiring remote engineers.

In other words, keep applying using the traditional methods (LinkedIn, standard job sites), and during interviews try to explore what are the company's long-term views on remote work.

How did you find a recruiter?

They find me. 95% of the inbound messages I receive are from recruiters. The other 5% are sales and old freinds/lovers/colleagues wanting to reconnect. LOL
