Strateos(YC W15) | Device Driver, Front End and Backend Software Engineers, Engineering Manager, Product Managers | Menlo Park, CA | https://strateos.com | FULL TIME; TEMP REMOTE

Strateos is turning life science into an information technology by creating a fully automated cloud wet lab. Scientists anywhere can define and (reproducibly!) run experiments over the internet on-demand and without investing up-front in a lab facility.

The Strateos Common Lab Environment (SCLE) takes Autoprotocol (http://autoprotocol.org/), a high-level JSON description of a biological protocol, and executes it on our custom-built robotic workcells. The protocols we handle routinely involve solving constraint programming models with thousands of variables and constraints in order to find the best plan that fulfills the scientist's biological intent.

Scientists manage their experiments through our web application or via our API. We provide a single platform that controls scientific devices from many vendors in a unified way, and an interface to control our automated labs.

Tech stack includes: Linux, Scala, RabbitMQ, Rails, Typescript, React, Ansible, Postgres

Benefits include: full medical/dental/vision insurance; catered lunch and dinner when in office, and a fully stocked kitchen; flexible vacation policy; 401(k) with matching; gym and commuter reimbursement; and education reimbursement up to $3,000/year.

Ambassador Labs (formerly Datawire) | Software Engineers (mid-level to senior to principal) | REMOTE | FULL-TIME

Our mission is to build the DevOps stack for Kubernetes.

Kubernetes isn’t just a change in platform; it is a change in the development workflow. Before Kubernetes, monolith applications had static and separate, dev and ops workflows. The workflows had to be fixed and static since everyone was working on a big block of code that would get released at set intervals. The perfect storm of DevOps, microservices and cloud has changed the development process. What was once controlled, static and monolithic is now decentralized, dynamic and focused on developers delivering services, not just code. Ambassador Labs is building the DevOps stack for Kubernetes.

Built for Kubernetes managed environments, the Ambassador Edge Stack, goes beyond traditional API Gateways and Ingress Controllers with the advanced edge features needed to support DevOps for Kubernetes. Built on the industry-leading Envoy Proxy, the Ambassador Edge Stack is available in both open-source and commercial editions. Ambassador Edge Stack is the most popular Kubernetes-native API Gateway.

We’re looking for candidates with a strong track record of putting Golang or Python to use in bringing products to life. Ideally, you’ve already had some direct or indirect exposure to Kubernetes.

If you’re interested, contact me directly: candace@datawire.io. Look forward to hearing from you!
