Why is this being downvoted? I know I am not alone in wanting a technical overview of the role of CCP and GFW when consuming these API's from outside China... is this real innovation in silicon or just another way of offloading data (or a mix)?
AFAIK the models are run locally using the dedicated ml capabilities of the Huawei cpu's.

Yeah, I expected them to rollback that policy in light to this, and let gray market hit EU/USA with reflashed devices.
I even received some weird bug issues on my ROM ( https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/issues/1... ) that made me think they were actually trying to go this route, but nope.
(FWIW this bootloader lock policy happened few months after Honor (USA branch) gave away devices for ROM developers, if you want a model of intra-company miscommunication)

Why do they need your bank document and/or bank statements?
Because you buy into a platform and those platforms have to follow the rules regarding financial transaction,
hell even in the crypto currency markets you have schemes like Known your customers(KYC)
same if you want to do stock trades at least in the western Europe country i live in.
