McLaren College is an online school designed to identify and train people in poor countries for software engineering careers who otherwise would not have such an opportunity. We do not charge any up-front fees for our course; our fees are charged as a percentage of a student's income after they graduate (or complete at least 60% of the course). We enrolled our first batch of students for our Flutter and React programming course in September 2019 and are currently enrolling our second batch.

Mentor Collective partners with universities and learning institutions to increase graduation rates by running large scale mentorship programs (hundreds to thousands of personalized matches) to help traditionally underserved populations feel like they belong on campus.

PetsApp (https://petsapp.com) is a startup with a mission to make veterinary expertise more accessible. Right now only 20% of issues a pet faces are seen by a vet, with the remaining 80% being left hoping for the best. We are a small but mighty, and have achieved great things since we launched in January 2020: >125k chats, >£1m in payments, >70k pets on the platform. We've just closed seed round of funding of around $4.5 million, and are now expanding our engineering team.

We have built a fantastic set of user facing applications using React and React Native, all supported by our APIs running on AWS using Lambdas with Typescript, Dynamodb, SNS, Elasticsearch, and Postgres. We're now looking for engineers with strong backend experience to come and join our team.

Ideal candidate will have:

- Experience with a streaming/event driven architecture

- Experience standing up infrastructure in cloud of choice

- Experience with Typescript or another strongly typed language
