#2So cloudflare can protect against 70 tbps ddoses without billing the customer, and millions of sites use their free plan with not much incentive to move onto the $20 per month package. How is cloudflare able to stay in business? Is it just a nsa data collection scheme to mitm a large portion of the webs tls traffic?

But the simple answer is... lots of people and companies per us for our service, we've optimized the cost of running our service over years and years.
