I completely agree with you, it does feel like an insult, even if it is April 1st.

One thing to notice is that the date is April 1st, 2014 on that blog post ...

Look at the URL: Maccromates. The rest of the links redirect back to the real site, sans the second c.

TextMate 2 part of Honeycomb

Textmate 2 part of the FaceTime Protocol

TextMate and Emacs projects merging due to threats from Kod

TextMate 2 to only ship on iOS devices
