But is it really? Were the people complaining about the war in Yemen or the atrocities of Saudi Arabia or the horrors of the Iraq War able to meaningfully change anything? Or is it the case that the only time that human rights actually enact change is when there is an underlying material interest, making them little more than a veneer?
