#15Earlier quoted context omitted.
I don't take advice from a book that has caused so much physical and mental pain, ruined lives and families.
Explain further?
Re: Bible API
#16Meh. I would really love to see the day when religion stops being more than a fantasy fictional story. The project is nice, but I dislike its promotion of religion, and christianity in particular. This story has caused way too much suffering already. I wonder who will first use this project for children indoctrination.
Jesus was an incredible person. The bible taken out of context as it is in corporate christianity, really truly doesn't do Jesus justice.
If you love Jesus, read that book - it will only make you love him more.
If you are an atheist - read that book, it will give you a historical basis on which you can critique modern day Christianity.

#17Nice API. Still, it's a little like a Shakespeare API that supports only Portuguese and Chinese. It would be great to include the original languages.
There's a ton of work getting the data into the correct format for this API. I, too, would love to have Greek and Hebrew available, but I'm glad that we have at least as much as this.
Re: Bible API
#18Pretty helpful. The more translations the better too. Cross referencing translations is always interesting for me.
I see what you did there.
Re: Bible API
#19This is neat. This makes me curious about the licencing around popular translations, like the Jerusalem Bible or the NIV; is it not legal to post those translations??

But, a reminder to all the mods and down-vote hungry people, if someone can post a link to a religion's website and tools, we should allowed to comment on how we'd like to use it.
