Programming is a subset of software engineering. A large number of important disciplines surround programming, including ones that just join one programmer's output to another. To state that you can get by solely with programming is foolish if you are tackling a problem of any complexity.

Of course, reducing the overhead and improving the morale of developers is always a good thing, but somehow I don't think this is what you were implying.

You can't talk to your colleagues without a Scrum meeting? That seems to be a personal issue, not a methodology issue.
