The extended emoji reactions were rolled out couple of days ago.
Does that mean being able to react with more than the six emoji's I can currently use?

It's not just me. My SO, her mother and my parents doesn't either.
This is semi-unrelated, but indicative: I posted a bug about photos taken in landscape showing up as portrait (ie sideways) if the screen is locked, and it was closed as "we'd like to have this fixed at some point". How is rotating photos properly not a priority for a messaging app? It's really annoying to have half your photos rotated sideways, and it screams "buggy app" to both participants of the conversation.
At this point I'd say you desperately look for something to complain about. Why don't you just not use it and check your PC? There is obviously something wrong with it.

I would understand the urgency if this issue would occur in the app when you open it normally but the lock screen? Really? At this point I'd say you desperately look for something to complain about. Why don't you just not use it and check your PC? There is obviously something wrong with it.
How would you even take a photo in landscape using the desktop?

Correct.
Cool, thanks for the update. Hoping that comes to Android and Desktop soon indeed.

#266The only reason I don't use Signal is because it still uses your phone number for ID. What is even the point of verifying by number?

Signal started open-source, it was TextSecure, I'm sure there'll be an open-source alternative if the commercial entity fails, though I hope they do not.
Signal is still open source and is not a commercial entity.
Did you google it? You're simply wrong.
It is open-source as it was, I didn't dispute that, but they are liable for their users if this bill passes, and they will easily go bankrupt. If there's no commercial entity, then liability falls to the developers most likely--whose identity can be obscured since they're developing Signal hopefully.

They have a standard corporate structure--based in Delaware, registered as a Foreign entity in California.

As far as I know, while the DevOps code is not open source, the server and app code are on GitHub; that is you’re able to roll your own version however it defined by the licensing; recent attack on Signal by security researcher used a self-compiled app as a proof of concept; Signal patched the issue.
If the commercial entity fails or is held liable, we just need a distributed profile system, should be easy enough.

You are being downvoted because the current understanding here, AFAIU, is that there is no good identifier of the "they" where you say "they purport" because there does not currently exist an organized group that identifies themselves as "ANTIFA". If you are aware of sources that indicate otherwise, would you mind sharing them?
There are definitely organized groups that identify themselves as "antifa" (e.g. [1]). I think you're getting at though is that antifa is not a singular organization but rather a collection of autonomous activist groups and individuals who share a roughly similar set of ideology and tactics.
