No, it looks like they are only interested in taking down comments they disagree with.

I bet they haven’t commented on leaving up comments up by people they agree with which could be inflammatory.

So people are happy Twitter can manipulate messages, but unhappy Facebook is not manipulating messages because it goes counter to their PoV!

Or have congress roll back Section 230. If online publishers were held to the same libel standards as print publishers this problem would be instantly fixed.

FAANG talking down on other FAANG seems funny.

I'm not FAANG just a concerned contributor who gets to work with them daily and was watching this unfold while getting tear gassed standing in drum circles this weekend.

Unless this is about G attacking FBers, yeah, that has been fun to watch. As usual the FB'ers are pretty silent about everything. Couple of "hi i work for fb and want to leave what should i do" posts but that was all I really saw.

All decentralization would do is force people even harder into their bubbles. Facebook et al do a pretty good job of that already, but at least with everyone on one platform there's a chance to see another view. Decentralized platforms just means cliques will develop and dissenting views will be banned. Just look at Reddit and its subreddit system for where this ends up.

Facebook employees are not adequately representative of the population as a whole. They lean overwhelmingly left and as such I would take their "blowback" with a grain of salt.

Some may also be much more financially sound to back up their talk with resignations or other actions if they feel strongly that their employer does things that don't sit well with them.

But if they resign they would lose the six figure income and also any influence with future censorship battles at Facebook. Better to stay in, wipe your tears with dollar bills and keep the pressure alive. Zuckerberg will give up at some point.

This playbook is depressingly familiar around the world now. Relentless constant pressure to delegitimise institutions at every possible opportunity. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month.

Just a few recent examples. UK with Dominic Cummings, Australia with the fires, India with Hindu hysteria, US with.. well everything.

Because it's pretty clear the point of the comment was the lack of ethics in pursuit of money.

Not everybody wants to work at places like that, or with people like that.

What's the point in them bringing technical expertise to your environment if they poison the culture with their amorality and venality?

Money isn't everything, some of us know that, some of us don't care.
