Don't forget... Microsoft <3 Linux. You can tell it's a top consideration.

#122React Native scares me with its dependency webs: http://npm.anvaka.com/#/view/2d/react-native From my experience, it's really great to work with and definitely saves a ton of work, but the depgraph above fills me with doubt for use in sensitive applications such as in finance or healthcare. For this reason, I've been trying out Flutter or even considering to go back to native apps. Perhaps there's some kind of middle…
If you want to know what it's like to have everything break LITERALLY every few days, use react native.

No, React Native still uses Javascript, not “native code”. It’s different in that it doesn’t use HTML or CSS (which is a major difference, sure).
Does React Native use V8 internally then?

It is not. Here's the GitHub for the Windows implementation: https://github.com/microsoft/react-native-windows And here's the fork of React Native for the Mac one (it doesn't seem to be as polished as the Windows one yet): https://github.com/microsoft/react-native-macos
I would be very surprised if they didn't use any pieces used by Edge (how else would they render css?). A quick search of their code though and I couldn't find it. Perhaps I assumed too much

#125Is anyone able to provide a map of modern frameworks? With React-native, React-redux, Angular, Vue and probably a bunch of others. I'm really not sure what's relevant now and what was relevant 6 months ago. I'm genuinely curious, but it's pretty difficult to grasp and no framework homepage is going to tell you "Don't use me, I'm about to be a dead project!" and every developer will tell you their preferred framework…
React , Angular , and Vue are the big 3 web frameworks. Of which React is still more popular than the others I believe, and it takes a slightly different approach. While Angular and Vue use string-templating DSLs to control rendering, React uses JSX which is a thin syntax sugar over JavaScript (and allows you to mix JavaScript in with it). React is also more functional. In practice I find this makes it more flexible,…

Windows Forms was released on 2002 and is still supported by Microsoft. How long do you think Flutter will be supported by Google? For dev technology, Microsoft has a well-deserved reputation for supporting products for a long time.

Re: React Native for Windows and Mac
#127I'd love to abandon my C/C++ UI frameworks for React, but I need - consistent rendering/support across multiple platforms and versions - multiple windows - rendering to a window that isn't owned by the UI being rendered or created by the framework Can I do that all in React native? Edit: don't need to bring up electron.
Can the native UI framework do multiple windows? - Then React-Native can do multiple windows.
Rendering to a windows that isn't owned by the framework is what React-Native refers to as Brownfield apps. This is absolutely supported. For instance, Microsoft Office is using React-Native for some parts of their UI in Android, iOS, Windows and macOS. And the Office window is not created or owned by react-native.

It was the worst experience of my development life, building a phone app with it........................ never, never, never again. If you want to know what it's like to have everything break LITERALLY every few days, use react native.

Any other evidence? I don't "feel" this, flutter seems to be floundering from what I've seen.
The problem with flutter is you never know when Google will stop investing in the product at any moment when the devs shift their priority.and let it die on the vine.

#130I'm really excited, although the Mac part of this page is somewhat misleading — there isn't anything available on the Mac side yet (everything is "coming soon")
