That is quite the abuse of statistics! US GDP (edit: inflation-adjusted) was $5 trillion in 1970, and $19 trillion in 2019. The income percentage of the middle three quintiles went down from 53% to 45%, but 45% of $19 trillion is still much, much more than 53% of $5 trillion.
