FINALLY the field of Economics is waking up to the 20th (yes) century... I've always loved the questions economics asks, but found the methodology for finding answers to miss out on ideas from computer science

I got lost at part 1.4.1 on page 6. I know python, but what would I need to learn to actually follow this pdf?

Some mathematics background would help. It is a book about quantitative economics after all.

Which ideas from CS?

You mean optimization techniques that don't work in the real world of finance?

Econ has used maths and computers for a long time.
