After Cheney's scaling event, I mean Bush's invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, San Francisco protested hard. A lot of their techniques were innovative and new, and the organization was stunning. Occupy was even better tactically and strategically. None of them compared to the freedom fighters in Hong Kong. They do the things that Americans are too cowardly to imagine, like shutting down airports and transit. Have you…

I also like lasers, umbrellas and face masks against face recognition. Someone should collect these ideas to some web page as "Little Brother's Handbook".

At least the women in Afghanistan did - and now piece by piece their freedom is taken away from them with every day as the Taliban advance to re-take control again.

The mistake of the Western world in all three conflicts was not entering it (one might argue it was neccessary to protect the human rights of the populace against the dictators), the mistake was completely ignoring the needs of the people and never having a clear long term plan in the likes of the post WW2 Marshall Plan.

Yes they could pull that off. But at what cost?

HK maritime and airspace were surrounded by China Guangdong and Fujian province. China could easily starve the city to death at no effort at all.

>Have you seen the way they extinguish tear gas canisters with traffic cones?

This is nothing new, but somehow it’s only special and smart when the people doing it aren’t brown.

The USA has a plan, and it was executed flawlessly:

* Destroy Iraq and Afghanistan * Take away all the rights of US citizens via the PATRIOT act * Make billions of dollars for Haliburton, Blackwater, and Xi * Make hundreds of billions of dollars selling arms to all sides * Destroy liberal democracy in the middle-east

Americans rebuilt Germany and Japan because there was profit in it, period. America destroys the middle east because there's profit in it, and because we have some weird evangelical fetish for Israel, and hope to bring on the apocalypse.

The mistake of the western world is allowing billionaires to run the country.

Never forget that 9/11 was perpetrated by family friends of George Bush. Saudis killed 3,000 people and our response was to destroy Iraq, Afghanistan, and Suriya.

Mission accomplished.

Which countries have supported these freedom fighters as yet?

...and with Machine Learning scraping and analysing social media posts, police knows the location of the protest ahead of time.

Police will know this regardless of technology. The object is not for protestors to avoid the police, it's for the protestors to know where they are.

It's making information less asymmetric.

Purposefully creating a refugee crisis in your neighborhood is not a great idea. Maybe they could lock down the border completely with a zone of death full of mines and automatic machine guns to keep the refugees away, but that would be challenging to explain for the internal propaganda department, who have been describing Hong Kongers as true patriots opposing a handful of separatist rioters. How could they suddenly let them starve?
