Some homeless need homes, others need medical care, drug rehab, jobs or education

Some just need a second chance and a hand to be able to climb out of the hole they’re in

Others won’t be able to ever help themselves

Saying they “need homes” because they’re “home less” sounds so naive

Edit:

Everyone needs shelter and I hope a comprehensive solution could be implemented where anyone in need could find the type of shelter that is most helpful

The homeless problem is really a drug problem. How many millions of Latin Americans have moved here in the past few years? None of them are living in tents on the curb or shooting heroin in a BART station. The down and out people who are homeless between jobs overwhelming get relocated in homes or shelters and get support. The people you see living in tents on the street are hardcore drug addicts and mentally ill who…

The homeless problem is really a drug problem. Tell that to the thousands of working full-time school teachers, maids, baristas, factory workers, and yes even coders who have to live in their cars or worse. Homelessness isn't one single problem. Saying it's a drug thing is just a way for people to put their noses in the air and pretend that homeless people brought homelessness on themselves.

You didn’t read my comment. The problem will not be solved by lumping the underpaid with the mentally ill or drug addicted. You have to address each issue separately. And like I said, millions of migrant workers come here from Latin America and aren’t living in tents or cars, they just get roommates.
