How does a communist country have the second largest economy in the world?

By the Gov't "subsidizing" much of their economy and business. Same as Russia was able to to before in an old style economy with manufacturing by big companies which had several areas of that business. Now the new economy begins as idea based software which is more 'accessible' to a person living in all types of culture/demographic/country, especially if that country provides frameworks for innovation.
