Even if he'd removed the limit entirely, that doesn't show intent to allow that specific transaction through. What if he was removing it to make a completely different payment? It seems like terrible UX to not allow/require individual approve/reject on transactions that triggered the limit.
> It seems like terrible UX to not allow/require individual approve/reject on transactions that triggered the limit. This would have been a massive improvement, agreed. Maybe they have to make a call within a few seconds and can't ask your permission first, though, so maybe that's not possible. Still, the notification could have shown "Your transaction to MERCHANT for AMOUNT on CARD was declined because of your limit…

#183Why the hell would you even use a "virtual" card? With the rate at which personal data is being stolen day after day and companies as large as Equifax being breached, why would you trust your money with an all-virtual bank? Especially one that is so new? It's just asking for trouble. I've had the same bank since I was 17 and they have literally never let me down, and the couple of times I had a fraudulent transaction…

Gazprom ties, AML system randomly going offline, regulated by Lithuania...this looks more like a money-laundering scheme than a bank.
Why does being regulated by Lithuania make it look it like a money-laundering scheme?
I would guess that regulation in the UK is better, but I'm not really up on my Eastern European/pan European banking regulation to definitively say.

#186don't use their insurance. Recently I was in Istanbul and the insurance didn't activate. Their app did not register me as in Turkey. All permissions were ok, Google Maps worked and I purchased a cappuccino with the Revolut physical card in Istanbul. Still, according to them I was not in Istanbul and there was some problem on my end. So, I was uninsured. Imagine if this happens when you are in the US and you get sick.…
How do you know the insurance wasn't activated? Why does the insurance activate based on location rather than date?

It doesn't raise issues per se. But Lithuania has a sizable Russian population [1]. It's also a small country.
The latter means it has less experience supervising novel and complex financial systems. It also makes its regulators easier to unduly influence, either through bribery or threats (e.g. Revolut failing would probably deplete Lithuania's national deposit system).
