format=flowed has many other problems, aside from mangling mails. It gets lost easily; intermixing mail clients that handle it with those that don't (or have been intentionally configured to ignore it because it mangles mails) produces poor results; it often breaks signatures; it makes it harder to quote and reply to emails; in general, it means the person on the other end will not see exactly what you sent.

Easy, you can change what folder it treats as sent. It doesn't have a trash bin (and it won't) or draft support (and it will) yet.
Out of curiosity, why won’t there be a Trash bin? What about an Archive folder?

#105I wonder how good it is with wide width characters (in CJK languages). Handling them in a terminal is rather tricky, and I haven't seen anything that's good except ones that are developed by the actual users of the language.
I also think it is really only your terminal and fonts that have a say at how wide characters are handled (as well as Xresources if you run GNU/Linux). If you are on Linux a modern terminal emulator with great capabilities is kovidgoyal/kitty at Github.

Checkout offlineimap.
Mutt can then use the synched directory from offlineimap.

You mean like speaking any other language besides english?
I think he is thinking about that some letters look identical but are encoded differently. So someone will not be able to look at an email address and say: oh it’s from such and such.

What's wrong with fetchmail? Granted, it's not "as soon as it arrives", but you can run it every minute if you want.
