SEEKING WORK | remote work | USA HQ / Ukraine Devs

I co-founded and run AboveBits a web / app development studio, with an offshore team in Ukraine, and HQ based in Los Angeles. Many startups and large companies outsource to us and I would love to talk with you about the possibility of us working with/for you.

We have a very serious testing and quality assurance system and our work is extremely high quality. While our pricing is competitive, we are not as low priced as what you might see from India and China, but our quality, process and deliverables are of extremely high caliber.

We have worked on some very large projects recently and you can see more at abovebits.com

Some recent / ongoing / coming soon web projects: fingercheck.com, artnaturals.com, shopgiveable.com

Additionally we have worked on quite a few large (and small) apps, including some European competitors/clones to Uber and AAA Roadside Services.

Also two apps in review in the app store this week, and a lot more.

I would love to talk more with you if you are interested. Please contact me through the contact form on abovebits.com

SEEKING WORK | Cambridge/London UK or Remote

I'm a software engineer with 16 years of programming experience. I've helped startups get started and big companies keep going.

If you have web projects, then there's a good chance I've worked on something similar before and will be able to hit the ground running. If you need more general programming, I can do it. If you're doing something a bit esoteric, that would definitely suit me – I've done FPGAs, network protocols, speech recognition, more ETL than you can shake a stick at, and devising novel algorithms.

I consider myself a polyglot programmer and haven't found a language I can't be productive in yet. In the last 5 years I've written (at least) C#, Java, Python, Javascript (browser and Node.js), and Ruby professionally.

I'm friendly and easy-going, enjoy mentoring and working with other developers. I just delighted a client by delivering everything they wanted for a highly speculative project in 80% of the planned time, despite the project having completely failed twice previously before I was involved.

I'm happiest on fixed-term projects that I can complete on a schedule that suits both of us, and my clients have been very happy with this process too.

I make software. Unlike many developers, I don't specialize in a particular language or toolset. Instead, I'm comfortable working with most anything. Need a plugin for Adobe Lightroom written in Lua? A memory tester written in Forth? An AVR firmware written in C? Those are all things I've worked on. Something else? I'm comfortable jumping in to it. If you need a very conventional website built with Rails, Django, Flask, or Sinatra, well... I can do that too.

I'm looking for projects ranging from hours to months.

Stuff I know well: Clojure, Ruby (with or without Rails), Python, Django, Javascript, Lua, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SASS, responsive CSS.

Other stuff I've used for something non-trivial at least once: Common Lisp, Scheme, Java, SASS, C, PHP, Haskell, Bash, Perl, MongoDB, Mirah, Android development with Clojure, React Native with Clojurescript. Yes, I can probably pick up that language or tool you're using that nobody has ever heard of.

My main expertise is JS/Node. I worked with Node from 0.6x in production, recently started committing to Node.js.

I'm offering help with: - Custom logging and metrics integration (not just clicks and page views) - L10n, I18n - Interactive D3 visualisations - Making your app with Vanilla JS (no trendy bullshit) - Custom development tooling for your app, codegen - Making APIs and App Models that are pleasant to use

SEEKING WORK | Yerevan, Armenia | remote

We are a 2 year old startup focused on applying ML algorithms to finance, i.e. we do ML, algorithmic trading, etc. We have also done some freelancing work related to long term financial market predictions for retirement planning.

Currently we are trying to pivot, and looking for related projects in algorithmic trading, or ML applications to time series.

We mostly work with python (django for our website, and visualizations), we have also done minor work with c family languages.
