One idea — what about making people authenticate with Facebook Connect to post? This would help with concerns about bad content being uploaded, as well as give a little bit of info about the author, and down the road you could subscribe to posts by a particular author?
I really like this - very simple (although I am guessing there is a lot of complexity behind the scenes to make it so simple). I've thought about this, and haven't made up my mind yet. I want people to say what's on their mind and part of that means that the post can't be easily tied back to their identity. Facebook connect seems the antithesis of that, but I guess at some point people have to trust the site they're posting on.
Two things:
One is that it would lose the "I'm everyone" feel, as now there are identities of the authors.
Second part would be that just because you would use Facebook Connect to authenticate wouldn't mean that you would have to use their personal info on their post - they could choose between using their own info and using an alias that gives no tie back to who they are. Would just have to work on messaging so that people aren't scared away by the Facebook Connect logo.
Really interesting, as long as you can stop it from becoming 4chan. :P
Thanks man. The thing I'm hoping is that it 4chan continues to be the best place to trade porn. They do it better, ImEveryone is more about the actual communication, hence the semi-persistent identities, threading, etc. I can run ImEveryone in black and white with little difference. Do you remove images after a certain period of time? When I was running photos.cx some years ago, I never deleted any images (unless they received a dmca complaint). About a petabyte of outbound transfers later, I had maybe about 190GB worth of images.
I'm fond of your design, but I'm pretty sure you're going to catch the wrath of 4chan if they come across this. Just look at what happened to stickam after they showed up.
Giving it about 3 weeks until it's overrun by spammers.

Errors in posts are at the top of the page, an idea I borrowed from Stack Overflow.
In testing, though, people don't like this, so I'll move the error messages next revision.
