After all this time, this is the first I've thought of the slashdot/digg and reddit/delicious comparison. Unfortunately, reddit is more digg and less 'delicious-like' nowadays.

I agree, I can't remember the last time I actually looked at the reddit homepage, but I still read programming.reddit quite often.

The odd thing about this post is that it's not merely mistaken, but diametrically opposite from the truth. The thesis seems to be that because of my "position as a partner in an investment portfolio" (what?) I'm forced to choose bland, unimaginative startups that will turn a quick profit. In fact one of the defining differences of YC is that we don't have to do this. Because we make a large number of small investment…

As I said in the guy's comments, if he saw the stuff you guys chose this summer, he'd realize how wrong he is. I can't wait until people start launching. I'm almost as excited about some of the other startups I saw out there in Mountain View as I am about ours.
