After all this time, this is the first I've thought of the slashdot/digg and reddit/delicious comparison. Unfortunately, reddit is more digg and less 'delicious-like' nowadays.
I agree, I can't remember the last time I actually looked at the reddit homepage, but I still read programming.reddit quite often.

#23The odd thing about this post is that it's not merely mistaken, but diametrically opposite from the truth. The thesis seems to be that because of my "position as a partner in an investment portfolio" (what?) I'm forced to choose bland, unimaginative startups that will turn a quick profit. In fact one of the defining differences of YC is that we don't have to do this. Because we make a large number of small investment…
As I said in the guy's comments, if he saw the stuff you guys chose this summer, he'd realize how wrong he is. I can't wait until people start launching. I'm almost as excited about some of the other startups I saw out there in Mountain View as I am about ours.
