I take it as a joke. Not everyone is married or has a significant other. But guess what? Now you do and you can advertise, just like everyone else. It is like a support animal, except now you have a support "significant other".

I don't think there is any. Some people just blog to get their thoughts out or fill downtime. I think this is one of those articles.
There are aspects of this I can relate to and completely understand, and other aspects that I find somewhat unnerving. In the end, it's a personal blog post from an individual's perspective so it doesn't matter what I think.
Although if I were single (or could get away with it) I would probably give this a shot.
