Finances:
- I currently work at a large unicorn. I'm waiting to close a secondary market transaction to cash out most of my shares
- I've saved ~15k to cover 4 months of living expenses in my current situation (more if I leave SF and go somewhere cheaper, which is also part of the plan)
New company prep:
- I can't work directly on my idea at work, but I've been teaching myself Python and Django so I can build an MVP during nights & weekends
- I started working on a pitch deck (just to share the idea and force myself to be able to explain it concisely); I stopped on this to actually work on the product
- Reading about fundraising and the mechanics of actually getting a start-up off the ground
Personal:
- Networking and getting input on the idea. I've kinda tapped this out (for now) so waiting to have something more substantive on the product side before going back to the same people
- Interviewing for other jobs to get a feel for my market value (been at my current job a long time...)
