It's interesting to see Tumblr described in many articles/forums as primarily for pornography. Overall people on reddit love seeing ‘a photo I took’ but it’s true that “here’s a photo my boyfriend took and was too shy to post on reddit” is better.

Verizon, having acquired Tumblr, had a problem. Their own "Verizon Smart Family"[1] censoring system would now be blocking their own site.
