I am a programmer and know python well. I know my son is good at studies and very good at learning new thing, loves science. At times I am tempted to teach him some python and I have a feeling that he will do great. Perhaps this will boost his confidence a lot.
My concerns however are: he might spend a lot of time then in front of screen instead of going out and playing with his friends.
Have you faced similar dilemma? What would be your advice?

#2Maybe limit his/her time to only 1 hour a day and warn about dangers of sitting on the computer too long.

#4I'd say until you learn whether you have a son or daughter, you have a bigger problem on your hands.
