NYC Cabbies deserve the cold shoulder: - They're frequently rude and unaccountable. They'll talk with friends on speaker (car speaker) and you can't rate them. - Oh, sorry sir. Can't go to Brooklyn. Grumble grumble. - Smells, garbage and other horrors on the back seat. Why bother cleaning it when you're a monopoly? - Road rage, dangerous driving, etc. that requires a more complicated TLC complaint while Uber and Lyft…
When I lived in NY I used cabs (yellow and green) all the time, if only so I didn't have to squint at license plates on crowded streets to find my phonecab, and even that was largely due to late night weekend construction to upgrade the 7 line signals.
They werent great but frankly not much worse than uber and in a city with a good subway network, where cabs and everywhere at all times, and I could drunkenly yell a cross street at a cabbie and get there in a reasonable amount of time uber is frankly unnecessary.
Uber is for suburban west coast lusers TBQH. No surprise such a shit company came out of cali.
