#2The program works on a huge list of streaming sites, not just YouTube. I believe it started as a YouTube only thing and then grew.

#7When I want to download a video from a site I always think “it would be great if youtube-dl worked with this niche website, but I think it’s too specific”, then I try and it works, I’m always surprised.

Have you got an example? I couldn't work out how to do it last time, but it's easier for me to get an Australian geoblocked site going than it is to submit a bug report and wait for someone to use a proxy.
