I use Ubuntu-Studio, which doesn't do this. People seem to forget that Ubuntu is just the front door. ... and have a couple spare weeks if you're inexperienced with Arch and don't have an intimate knowledge of the entire Linux user space stack. Sure, if you're experienced with Arch it might appear to be just some written instructions; otherwise, it's more like 1,000 page text book on Linux.

I started using xcfe when KDE replaced 3.5 (which was nice) with KDE 4 and onwards. I've tried GNOME and Unity but didn't like them much. Xcfe works the way I like it and most importantly it does feel a need to remake itself few years to pursue whatever is the latest fashion in UI design.

As long as I have the old-school styled MATE Desktop I'll be fine (XFCE is ok too once configured, just not my preferred enviro). Honestly, the UI should be err on keeping it simple and fast, animate IFF it is minimal and gives user useful feedback, always include 'open terminal here' contextmenu (be proud Linux), file browser should have up, back, forward buttons and a way to copy the path, and a bar to place oft use applications, and multiple desktops. That is all I want. Simple,no?

I don't hate it, but KDE Plasma is so good, that I can't use anything else anymore.

I recommend others to try. Also, shout out to OpenSuse if you want a good KDE distro.

The post stated the QC (Quality Control)) was an issue. Its not about for or against Systemd. That argument is over. Its here whether we like it or not. But posting reply's like this when people question, and RIGHTLY question QC of systemd is pathetic.

The leak as discussed in the bug comes from certain extensions. I do not think it qualifies as leaks as "hell".

If you just press "Super" multiple times does RAM usage go up? Was quite reproducible for me last time I've checked.
