#3We live in what people of any past time period would appropriately call paradise. We live longer, have the music and culture of the world at our fingertips, and the vast vast majority of Americans do not suffer from unsanitary conditions, having to hunt a giant animal, child slavery, or frequent rape.
And yet our new priests are these pseudoscientific... whiners.
Sure, stress affects the body. So does bitching about the best average living conditions ever. Go take a chi kung class, you have the time. If not, look up meditation on the Internet. Can't afford it? We have these amazing institutions called libraries. Walk 10 miles to one, its good for you.
No one SHOULD care. Please. Grow the fuck up.

#4It makes it sound as if work was more healthy in the past. Was it? When? I know hunter gatherer times were supposed to be paradise, but anything since then? Farming sounds rather arduous. Or what about mining, or working in factories where safety measures have not yet been invented?

20 years ago, before the lax in regulations made the whole world a competitive nightmare for most workers.

This has nothing to do with work in the past being more healthy. It is not a this or that situation.
Of course it is still valid to ask how a healthier workplace could be created. Just the notion that things were better in the past seems very unlikely to me.
