Why was this flagged.. what is inappropriate about this article and why can any Hacker News reader flag posts? Shouldn't admins only have this capability?

You're digging into a topic I've inquired about many times. I've never received any response from any admin. Ironically my submission was flagged itself for asking why certain articles were flagged and hidden. I may be wrong but I am under the impression that "flagging" something merely brings it to the attention of a mod. Certainly, I've never seen anything happen as the direct result of me flagging something.

There is a long history of censorship in HN.
basic rules is everything that makes IT look bad or talk about corporate (toxic) culture tends to get flagged/removed.
I tend to prefer to do my own judgement so I casually use http://hckrnews.com/ to have the same news chronologically.

You're kidding, right? Threads about "toxic" (terrible word) IT culture only get flagged when the discussion turns against progressive orthodoxy. LambdaConf, Github's panel, Google memo... Only when HN is having none of it, and the social justice cliques look bad, do the flags go up.
