What you are essentially saying is that it would be a reasonable expectation to only get a job as a software engineer if you are the absolutely in the top .0001% of programmers in the world. Which, sure, I'm glad you're successful, that's nice. And as advice for one individual it's good - showing good work is a positive indicator for an employer. But in the aggregate we can't ALL be the best.
